Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of JobShrink. By using the site, submitting a job description, checking the acknowledgement boxes, or viewing an output, you agree to these Terms.

Plain-English Summary

JobShrink is a satire and commentary tool. It is for entertainment and informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, financial advice, employment advice, HR advice, compensation advice, career advice, recruiting advice, or a professional opinion. Do not treat the output as fact.

1. The Service

JobShrink lets users paste job descriptions and receive AI-generated comedic commentary, translations, red-flag prompts, and suggested questions to ask before applying. The service is a job-posting decoder with jokes. It is not a job board, employer, recruiter, staffing agency, background-check provider, consumer reporting agency, compensation consultant, or professional advisory service.

2. Entertainment Only

JobShrink output is satire, parody, commentary, and comedic pattern-matching against job-posting text. It may be intentionally exaggerated for comic effect. It is not a factual finding about any person, employer, company, applicant, recruiter, hiring manager, team, job, or role.

3. No Advice Or Professional Relationship

Your use of JobShrink does not create an attorney-client, advisor-client, recruiter-client, consultant-client, fiduciary, employment, agency, or professional relationship. If you need legal, financial, employment, HR, compensation, career, or professional advice, speak with a qualified professional who understands your facts.

4. AI Output Limits

  • AI output can be inaccurate, exaggerated, incomplete, inconsistent, or absurd.
  • AI output may misunderstand a posting or miss important context.
  • AI output is not a substitute for your own judgment or advice from a qualified professional.
  • AI output is generated from the pasted text and does not verify employer claims, job availability, compensation, benefits, location, or requirements.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the text you submit, the way you interpret output, and the way you share output. You agree not to present JobShrink output as fact, advice, a professional opinion, a compensation appraisal, a legal assessment, an HR finding, or an assessment of any real person or employer.

6. Acceptable Use

  • Do not submit resumes, medical records, financial records, government IDs, passwords, private messages, or other sensitive personal information.
  • Do not use JobShrink to harass, defame, threaten, target, or shame any person, recruiter, hiring manager, employee, applicant, or employer.
  • Do not share JobShrink output as a factual assessment, professional opinion, compensation analysis, legal claim, or employment recommendation.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful purposes, automated scraping, abuse, security testing without permission, or attempts to disrupt the site.
  • Do not submit content that you do not have permission to process through the service.

7. Submitted Content

You retain any rights you have in text you submit. You give JobShrink permission to process that submitted text as needed to operate the service, generate the requested output, perform safety checks, maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Do not submit confidential, proprietary, or sensitive personal information unless you have the right to do so and are comfortable with the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services

JobShrink may use third-party infrastructure, hosting, analytics, advertising, and AI model providers to operate the site. Third-party services may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. JobShrink is not responsible for third-party websites, services, advertisements, or tools linked from the site.

9. Advertising

JobShrink may display advertisements, including ads served by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. Ads are provided by third parties and are not endorsements by JobShrink. You must not click ads to support the site, use automated ad-clicking behavior, or encourage others to click ads.

10. Intellectual Property

JobShrink, the site design, branding, code, prompts, generated report structure, interface copy, and related materials are owned by the site operator or its licensors, except for content you submit and third-party materials. You may use your generated output for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the entertainment-only disclaimers.

11. No Warranties

JobShrink is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobShrink disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and suitability for employment, compensation, or career decisions.

12. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobShrink and its operators, owners, contributors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, reputational harm, employment outcomes, or decisions made based on output from the service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JobShrink and its operators, owners, contributors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your submitted content, your use of the service, your sharing of output, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

14. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use JobShrink. Do not use the service if you are under 18 or if you are not allowed to use it under applicable law.

15. Changes And Termination

JobShrink may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. JobShrink may update these Terms from time to time. When the Terms version changes, the app may require you to review and acknowledge the updated Terms before generating another roast.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and, where state law applies, the law of the state in which the JobShrink operator is legally located, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some provisions may not apply to you.
